About the Author
Hans Urs von Balthasar (1905-88), a Swiss theologian and priest, is considered by many the most important Catholic theologian of the twentieth century. Incredibly prolific and diverse, he wrote over one hundred books and many hundreds of articles. A favorite theologian and spiritual writer of Pope Francis, as well as the two previous Popes, he was called "the most cultured man of our time" by Henri de Lubac, and Karl Rahner described his achievements as "really breathtaking."

an absolute beauty

in this short meditation on the apostle's creed, von balthasar gives us a summary of his own theolgy, firmly based in the Trinity and Fatherhood of God; firmly Catholic and saturated in the orthodox doctrine of the Church. it's too bad that this book wasn't five hundred pages, but the strength of this book and the Truth to which it points can, i think, best be sought and got in prayer; a truth which von balthasar new well enough. this book is an absolute beauty, and i highly recommend it.

Meditations

The author discusses the Creed by analizing each line with a depth one wouldn't expect from such a short book. This is definitely a quick and easy read, but it's also deep in meaning. You will gain a deeper understanding of the Creed by reading, and all things considered, this is well worth your money.
