good servants are hard to find but love is more important

Mr. Burton Crane (the book says he is under 30) rents a house from "one of the most aristocratic families south of the Mason and Dixon's", with the understanding that it comes complete with servants. The butler seems young for his job but looks like he will function very well. The cook is beautiful and cooks like a dream. The maid is rather sullen and ungracious. And the 'Useful Boy' is inclined to be impertinent. Within a few days Burton moves into his leased home with his lawyer, his almost fiancee and her mother. It doesn't take very long for the servants to make life difficult for Burton with amusing results. But, boy, can the cook deliver some delicious dishes. And she's beautiful, sweet and nice to talk to. This story is easy to read, and is not too long. I think I enjoyed reading it more the second time. - posted by Poore Richard's wyfe

Where Have U Been S.K. Epperson! She's BACK! And With a BANG!

Everyday I scroll through the Horror and Mysteries/Thrillers sections for new Kindle Books. At times I search for authors I like, one of them being S.K. Epperson. After finding no results for quite some time I gave up. Then one day I am paging through new releases and do a double take . . . was that S.K. Epperson's name I just saw. BINGO! Purchased Satyr's Graze without even a 2nd thought. S.K. Epperson has been away for quite some time from writing the Gothic Thrillers she was popular for, some with dash of the supernatural, during the 1990s. I anxiously waited for new book annually from her. They were all exceptional stories, with engaging characters; just downright entertaining and suspenseful reads. And Satyr's Graze is no exception! Another great Gothic thriller, a sprinkle of the supernatural, and a villian you just love to hate. Also, S.K. Epperson has released on Kindle a book of short stories (The Vision and other tales), and recently a novella (Dog Star Bender). So, it looks like she is back. If you can find any of her previous novels in paperback or hardcover (Brother Lowdown, Dumford Blood, Borderland, Nightmare, Moons of Summer, The Neighborhood, Green Lake, and Black Night - writing as S.J. Strayhorn) I would highly recommend you to do so. But I am hoping that her previous novels will be on Kindle someday soon. Would love to re-read them. This was one of my favorite authors during the 1990s and I certaininly hope she is here to stay and old readers flock back to the fold and new readers embrace her for the first time.

This book is a MUST read! Great characters with an addicting plot, could not put it down! Love her older books but this one is now my favorite!

Well-written, but not compelling

If you like a leisurely read, Satyr's Graze should prove to be a satisfying, if not compelling, novel. While it lacked the tension and conflict I prefer, many readers will find it suits their tastes perfectly. Well written, but I found the main character too timid and indecisive.

About the Author
Reverend Gloria N. Adams is a graduate of World Missions Bible College where she received a bachelors degree as an ordained minister in theology and biblical studies. Rev. Adams regularly teaches the prayer training class at the Bible Training Center, Win Institute, at Celebration Church—City of Champions in Columbia, MD. She is a small group ministry leader and participates in the Christian Guidance Ministry at Celebration Church. A devoted mother of two daughters, she is also part of the pastoral care program at Howard County General Hospital. Rev. Adams has traveled and provided workshops for women’s retreats, women’s conferences and prayer breakfasts throughout the State of Maryland. A recipient of the Minnie B. Davis Faithful Women award from her church, Gloria is a respected role model for women in her church and community. She has worked for the Food and Drug Administration as a chemist for more than 30 years since graduating from Howard University. Rev. Adams is the spiritual advisor for the Celebration Church School of Spiritual Dance and Angelic Steps dance ministries. She has researched and written 14- week semester syllabus and lessons for the dance school as well as workshops for the dance ministry at their annual retreat. Rev. Adams is a freelance writer and member of the Baltimore Christian Writer’s Group. Her poem, “Intimate Moments with Jesus,” was published in the renowned National Library of Poetry, The Other Side of Midnight, which is a collection of poems. Rev. Adams has a heart for the Great Commission to be taken around the world, wherever the Lord leads her. This passion for the lost and the needy has led her to become a missionary. She has taken several mission trips to Haiti, Trinidad, and Israel.
